Adam Huckstep

Adam Cody Huckstep, 23, an active-duty sergeant in the United States Army, had his life tragically cut short Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in Long County, Ga. Adam was stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., and assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He served his country with distinction during the Iraqi Sovereignty campaign in Tikrit and was preparing for his second deployment later this year, this time to Afghanistan. During his four years of military service, Adam earned several honors and awards: two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, one Army Good Conduct Medal, one National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, an Iraqi Campaign Medal, an Overseas Service Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, an Army Driver Badge and an Expert Marksmanship Badge for rifle proficiency. Adam was also a proud member of the Wingmen Motorcycle Club and participated in numerous charitable runs with his fellow riders in and around Savannah, Ga. Survivors: His father, Michael C. Huckstep and wife, Renee, of Arlington; mother, Tracy Anne La Porte and husband, Lorne, of Round Rock; siblings, Colleen Faith Huckstep, Savannah Grace Rhiannon La Porte and Zachary Cash Norman La Porte; and a host of many other loving family members, fellow soldiers and friends.
