FORT WORTH -- Addella Dee Pilley Crabtree departed this earthly life Monday morning, March 22, 2010, in her 92nd year. She was a lifelong Christian, having accepted Christ at age 6, and is now asleep awaiting the resurrection.        Service: 2 p.m. Friday in Pioneer's Rest Cemetery, 620 Samuels Ave. The Rev. Lawrence M. Hammond will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, R.B. "Keggy" Crabtree, who died in 1964.        Memorials: Consideration of contributions to The Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels or a charity of one's choice, honoring Dee's memory, is suggested.        Addella Dee Pilley Crabtree was born June 4, 1917, in Wills Point. She married Robert Bruce Crabtree in 1936 and had lived in Fort Worth since the late 1940s. As a mother, she raised four successful boys. Dee was "Grandmother" to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.        Dee retired from the FAA, U.S. Army representative's office, as a secretary in 1980 after 20 years of service, plus having worked other civil service and various jobs. No stranger to hard work, she also found time to volunteer for evening work at Cook Children's Hospital in the 1970s.        In past year, she greatly enjoyed the simple life of working in her yard, oil painting, reading the Bible and cooking great homemade Mexican food and chicken-fried steak for her family.        Mrs. Crabtree was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Alice Kitchens and Elizabeth Tannery; and brother, Howell Dillard Pilley.        Survivors: In addition to her sons, Robert Bruce Crabtree Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Eureka Springs, Ark., Donald Ross Crabtree of Berryville, Ark., Patrick Douglas Crabtree and his wife, Barbara, of Haltom City and Wallace Lane Crabtree of Fort Worth, Dee is survived by her grandchildren, Ian Stuart Crabtree, Lauren Elizabeth Gamble, Kasey Crabtree and Kelly Pound; and great-grandchildren, Graham and Miles Gamble and Kailey Norrod.
