Alfred Reece

Alfred Don "Big Al" Reece, passed away June 14, 2009, in Mansfield. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Wednesday at Blessing Colonial Chapel, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Memorials: The family suggests donations to the Anacortes Senior Center, 1701 22nd Street, Anacortes, Washington 98221. Don was born March 3, 1940 in Brownfield, the son of J.H. and Vera Fay Bilbrey Reece. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1958. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for four years. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he began a career as a respiratory therapist. He was a charter member and past president of the American Association of Respiratory Therapists. He retired from Whittier Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital after 25 years of working in the medical field. Don was preceded in death by his father, J.H. Reece.
