HURST -- Alma Londenberg Stevens, 93, passed away in Neosho, Mo., on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Pastor Walter E. Waiser will officiate. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 941 W. Bedford Euless Road, Hurst, Texas. Mrs. Stevens was born March 31, 1914, in Eastland. She lived in Waco until 1936, when she married James Stevens, who preceded her in death in 1963. She retired in 1976 from Picoli Petit in Dallas. Mrs. Stevens volunteered for numerous political and civic organizations in the Hurst area, which included volunteering with the automation of the Hurst Public Library and helping with the purchase of bicycles for the Hurst police bicycle patrol. Mrs. Stevens lived in Hurst for 42 years where she was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Mrs. Stevens held the office of president for the senior Elite group for several years at Peace Church. She was a member of the Pythians and was a past president of Eleanor Temple #36. Mrs. Stevens was a past president of AARP, Hurst chapter. Alma Stevens will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors: Her sister, Lilly Hale of Waco; sister-in-law, Christine Londenberg of Hewitt; son, J.C. Stevens of Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and John Lambert of Springtown; daughter and son-in-law, Prisscilla and Roy Wilson of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
