Alvin Barlett

HURST -- Alvin Duane Barlett, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009.        Memorial service: 2 p.m. Sunday in Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst.        Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.        A native of Clarion, Pa., Alvin was born Oct. 29, 1930, to Harold and Katherine Kribbs Barlett. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. His memberships included the Masons, Scottish Rite and Shrine. He was employed by Trinity Industries in Dallas as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.        Survivors: Loving wife, Dorothy Barlett; children, Allen, Gary and Keith Barlett and Fran Silverthorn; grandchildren, Jonathan Barlett and Philip Smith; brother, Kenneth Barlett; and sisters, Maxine Jordon, Leanor Trares and Marilyn Brown.
