Andrew Jackson Spangler

Andrew Jackson Spangler passed away on January 11, 2014. A celebration of life will be held at Lucas Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 10:00 am. Born in Millstone, KY. Jack joined the army at the tender age of 16. He served in England, France, and Greenland. After an injury in the service, he moved to Ohio where he met his soon-to-be wife, June. After some travel in Ohio and Phoenix, Arizona, they settled in Akron, Ohio. June and Jack were married for 64 years, living in Akron, Ohio; St. Petersburg, Florida and the last years in Tucson, Arizona and Bedford, Texas. Jack was preceded in death by "Mama June" in December, 2010. Jack had three siblings, one brother and two sisters, who have preceded him in death. Jack is survived by a son, David and his wife Cathy; and a daughter, Melinda and her husband Gary, as well as three beautiful grandchildren, Stephanie, Jamie, and Eric; many loving nieces and nephews and a wonderful extended family who will all miss Jack's sparkling blue eyes, quick laughter and easy going, warm personality. A special man, and loyal friend, Jack loved to laugh and have a good time with friends and family. Our world will never be the same without you "Papa Jack" and we love beyond words.
