Type Obit Here HURST -- Anthony Santivasci, 80, of Hurst, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. He was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Baltimore, Md., and was a longtime resident of Texas. He served in the Navy from Jan. 16, 1950, to Jan. 15, 1955, and subsequently served in the Air Force from Oct. 13, 1955, to Sept. 30, 1971. His last assignment was with the 89th Military Airlift Wing at Andrews Air Force Base, which is known as the Presidential Squadron and where he served proudly and received several medals for his outstanding service. He was a longtime coach for many youth organizations and mentored many to move into professional sports. Always on the move, he loved fishing, traveling and cooked the best spaghetti sauce known to exist. A religious and proud father, he was always an inspiration to many. Married for over 50 years, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn L. Summers, whom he loved dearly. Survivors: Sons, Anthony J. Santivasci Jr. of Las Vegas and Daniel S. Santivasci of Hurst; one brother; one brother-in-law; grandchildren, Kandi Kay Hood, Kristy Mae Santivasci and Mary Anjolene Martin; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom him very proud to be a grandfather and great-grandfather.
