FORT WORTH -- Archibald Eugene Crow, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Aug. 9, 2009. Service: A memorial Eucharist will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 2401 College Ave. His family will greet friends following the service. Archie will be laid to rest privately on Thursday in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to St. John's Episcopal Church is suggested. A native of Albany, Archie was born Feb. 16, 1917, the son of Eugene and Pearl Booth Crow. He graduated from Albany High School before attending Baylor University and Texas Tech. Archie proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Corps. Following the war, he married Annette Gibson in Albany on Jan. 11, 1947. His interests were his family, church and gardening. He was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he served on the vestry and in other positions. He was a Mason, a member of Moslah Shrine, the Bedouins and a life member of the Royal Order of the Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Eugene; daughter, Cynthia; and sister, Geraldine. Survivors: In addition to his devoted wife of 62 years, Annette, Archie is survived by his son, Archie Jr. and his wife, Beckey; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brooke and John Loafman, all of Fort Worth; and niece, Gerry Jackson of Edmond, Okla.
