Archie Smith

Archie Smith, born in Keller Oct. 30, 1924, to Bill and Isabelle Smith, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Bourland Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Lucas Funeral Home, Keller. Archie, a lifelong Keller resident, proudly served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Armour & Co after 38 years. During this time he moved his family to the country where they raised chickens and cattle. This business became known as the A. Smith Mini Ranch. Afterwards he worked for Tarrant County Precinct 3 for over 10 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Irene. Survivors: Daughters, Trenda Russell (husband, Tommy), Daphne Markham (husband, Keith); grandchildren, Pavala Wynn, Chelsee Self, Clate Russell, Jeremy Moran, Chris Murdock; several great-grandchildren.
