Armond Hutchins Buddy Helmick, 75, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation was held 7:00-9:00 P.M. March 2, at the Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield, Texas. Service was held at 2:00 P.M. March 3, at the Funeral Homes Colonial Chapel with Pastor, Dr. Samuel Rowlett Jr. officiating. A reception followed the service at Buddys home, 600 Elizabeth Lane Mansfield. Buddys interment was next to his wife at the Mansfield Memory Cemetery. Buddy Helmick was born July 17, 1933, Tarrant County Texas. He and Ruby Sanders were married May 17, 1952. She died March 3, 2000. Buddy was a devoted and loving husband for 48 years and a hard worker making sure she was able to stay at home and raise the children. He retired Mar 31, 1996, from Lockheed Martin as a machinist for 43 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Mansfield. His greatest joy was his family and winning at dominoes. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby; parents Roger and Vivian; daughter-in-law Lisa Helmick; and granddaughters Melisa Helmick and Reighann Grubbs. Survivors include sons Carlton Helmick and wife Marion of Burkburnett, Steven Helmick and wife Debbie of Burkburnett, Russell Helmick of Burleson, and daughter Jeanene Stroud and husband Donald of Burleson; brother Vernon Helmick and wife Maxine; sister-in-laws Mildred Gentry and Edith and husband Robert Worthy; grandchildren Sommer and husband Chris Neal, Autumn and husband Caleb Tomlinson, Clayton Grubbs, Christy and Stephanie Helmick, Zac Helmick, Billy Stroud, and Brian Stroud and wife Ashley; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 403 E. Broad St. P. O. Box 59 Mansfield TX. 76063.
