A graveside service for Barbara A. Scott, 73, formerly of Carlsbad, was held on Tuesday, February 19 at 3 PM at the Emerald Hills Cemetery in Kennedale, Texas.Barbara Ann Scott, loving wife, devoted mother, and terrific grandmother, passed away on Feb. 15, 2008 at the Medical Center of Arlington in Arlington, TX. She was a resident of Arlington, TX since 2001.Barbara was born on May 6, 1934, in Paris, AR, to Roscoe and Mary Euna Holcomb. She was the older of 2 daughters. The family moved to Carlsbad, NM when she was only 6 years old. She was a drum majorette with the band and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1952.She was happily married to Coe Howard Scott on April 3, 1953. They had two daughters: Tracy Lynn Thomas of Flower Mound, TX and Lori Ann Montano of Arlington, TX.Before she retired, Barbara was a comptroller for the Motel Stevens, a bookkeeper for Dr. Ron Hoffman, a real estate agent for several agencies, and owner of Southwest Trophies and Engraving.Throughout her life, she loved to sew, do crafts, paint ceramics, make dolls and other projects that she shared with family and friends. She was very involved in her daughter's and granddaughter's softball endeavors and very rarely missed softball games or tournaments.Barbara is survived by her husband, Howard, of 54 years, her daughters, Tracy and Lori, Lori's fiance Don Pruitt, and three grandchildren, Aaron Thomas of Flower Mound, TX, Jillian Montano and Scott Montano of Arlington, TX.She will be deeply missed and loved forever.
