Barbara Sparks

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Barbara Ann Sparks, 75, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, at a local care center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Visitation: Barbara will lie in state Monday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial: Following committal service, Barbara will be laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Barbara was born in Rio Hondo June 2, 1933, to George Robert and Ann Hanusik Cholick. Barbara and Leland Sparks were married May 6, 1953. Barbara was primarily a homemaker. She was a substitute teacher in the H-E-B and Birdville school systems for many years. She was an honor graduate of A&I, now known as A&M Kingsville. Survivors: Husband of 55 years, Leland Sparks; sons, Chris Sparks, Steve Sparks and his wife, Dana, Jerry Sparks and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Steve Sparks Jr., Shane Sparks, Miranda Sparks, Jared Sparks, Chad Sparks; great-grandchildren, Aubree Sparks and Dawson Sparks.
