FORT WORTH -- Bernard Berman, 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully Monday afternoon, July 16, 2007. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, in the chapel of Beth-El Congregation, 4901 Briarhaven Road. Rabbi Ned Soltz and Rabbi Sidney Zimelman will officiate. Burial: Following committal prayers, Bernard will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park. Bearers of his casket will be Mark Berman, Nat Berman, Steven Judge, Henry Cox, Jim Laughlin, Aaron Seigel and Terry Seigel. Honorary bearers will be members of his monthly "Tuesday Night Poker Group."Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the Rosenthal-Seigel Endowment at Beth-El Congregation, in memory of Bernard, is suggested. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bernard was born July 18, 1930, the son of Myer and Ida Shapiro Berman. He married Rita Auerbach on Dec. 30, 1951. Bernard resided in Dallas before moving to Fort Worth in 1985 where he joined Beth-El Congregation. He was general manager of Butler Ventamatic, a ventilation systems company, in Mineral Wells. Passionate about his family, especially his grandchildren, Bernard loved Frank Sinatra music. He was an avid baseball fan who loved the Texas Rangers and the Fort Worth Cats. He enjoyed debating politics, with anyone, at any time, and cared greatly about his fellow employees and customers alike. Survivors: Bernard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita Auerbach Berman of Fort Worth; son, Mark Berman and his wife, Yawadee, of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters, Ellen Berman Ulrich of Fort Worth and Lynn Berman Judge and her husband, Steven, of Yukon, Okla.; grandchildren, Nat Berman, Bennett Berman, Amanda Ulrich, Alexis Ulrich and her fiance, David Warren, Brittany Judge and Chelsea Judge; brother-in-law, Maurice Auerbach; and cousin, William Breit.Robertson Mueller Harper Funerals & Cremations 1500 Eighth Ave., 817-924-4233
