Bessie Kelley

HURST -- Bessie E. Kelley, 97, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Lucas Hurst Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Steven Bell will officiate. Bessie, the daughter of James and Willie Barber Chambers, was born Dec. 24, 1910, in Haleyville, Ala. She was a longtime resident of North Little Rock, Ark., where she was active in Levy Baptist Church. She moved to Hurst eight years ago to be with family. Survivors: Daughters, Elise Ball of Hurst and Barbara Grimes Edwards and husband, Troy, of Austin, Ark.; son, Bill Kelley and wife, Pat, of Dallas; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Jewel Gray.
