Betty Basham

DENTON -- Betty Jane Basham, 59, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.        Memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Smithfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tim Boeglin and the Rev. Richard Reed will officiate.        Betty, the daughter of Kermit and Mattie Langston Pickle, was born Feb. 3, 1949, in Fort Worth. She was an active member of Smithfield United Methodist Church.        Her family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.        Survivors: Husband, Steve Basham; daughters, Niki White, Stephanie Carpenter; seven grandchildren; one brother; and six sisters.
