EULESS -- Betty Ann Gent, 70, departed this life Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at a Bedford care center.        Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday at William C. Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford. Inurnment: columbarium at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later time.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Betty be sent to the American Cancer Society, Martin United Methodist Church, 2621 Bedford Road, Bedford, Texas 76021, or Neuro Fitness Foundation, 1361 W. Euless Blvd., Euless, Texas 76040.        She was born Jan. 17, 1940, to Arthur W. and Jessie Sue Hines in Orangeburg, S.C. During her early years, she lived with her family in South Carolina, Virginia and Florida. The family settled in the Atlanta, Ga., area in 1953, where Betty met her future husband in the eighth grade. She graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 1958 and earned a nurse's certificate from Peidmont Hospital Nursing School in 1961. She and Raymond D. Gent were married in Decatur, Ga., on June 9, 1962. Earlier that day, her new husband graduated from Georgia Tech and received a commission in the Navy. During the next nine years, she gave birth to two daughters and moved with her husband to various duty stations. Her husband left the Navy in 1971 and the family returned to the Atlanta area. As a result of her husband's corporate transfer, the family relocated to North Texas in 1981, residing in Euless. She was a member of Martin United Methodist Church. Betty also loved doing volunteer work with the Neuro Fitness Foundation in Euless and she enjoyed sewing and quilting.        Her parents preceded her in death.        Survivors: Her husband of 47 years, Raymond D. Gent; daughters, Suzanne Logue and husband, Robert, of Clarksville, Tenn., and Leslie James and husband, Terry, of Watauga; granddaughters, Kylie Logue and Hannah Logue; sister, Dawn Hines; and brother, Arthur Hines Jr., both of Atlanta.
