HURST -- Betty Stevens Marks,86,passed away peacefully Friday at a local nursing home and uplifted into the arms of her savior the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a native of St.Louis, raised in Tennessee, lived in Mississippi, moved to Texas in 1959 and has been a Tarrant County resident since 1962. Betty enjoyed music and singing and retired from TCJC-South Campus as the music department secretary. She was a life-long Episcopalian and a long term communicant of St.Luke's In The Meadow Episcopal Church, Fort Worth. Her pleasure time was spent reading, walking and community volunteering. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family suggests a donation in her memory to Meals-On-Wheels Inc. of Tarrant County 320 South Freeway Fort Worth, TX 76104. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Louis D. Marks Sr., brother Bill Stevens and parents Burnell and Frances Stevens. VISITATION: Friday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd. Hurst. A private family memorial service will be held Saturday. SURVIVORS: children-son Louis D. Marks Jr.,Hurst; daughter Louise Marks Covington, Lubbock; daughter Sandra Marks Reeder, Fort Worth and son Steven B. Marks Sr. Fort Worth; grandchildren Melissa Moshofsky, Portland,OR; Louis Bernard, Seattle; David Covington, Lubbock; Becky Marks, Plano and Steven Marks, Naugatuck,CT; great grandson Benjamin Mounce; nephews-Terry Stevens, Grapevine; Van Stevens, Irving, Scott Stevens, Austin; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
