Betty Jo Parr Sawyer

HURST -- Betty Parr Sawyer went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 1, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Betty was born in Bonham on Sept. 15, 1929, and was a resident of Hurst since 1960. She was a longtime employee of Johnson & Johnson (Surgikos) where she retired in 1991. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. Betty was preceded in death by husband, Floyd Parr; husband, Thomas Sawyer; her parents, Charles and Francis Snead; and sister, Dovie Woodard. Survivors: Sons, Gary Parr and wife, Nancy, Ron Parr and wife, Vicki; daughters, Janet Welch, Lisa Quezada and husband, James; grandchildren, Aimee and Carrie Wallace, Jason, Jerrad and Justin Welch, Rachel Fears and husband, Dax, Ryan Parr, Taylor and Katlyn Quezada; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Gavin Wallace; brothers-in-law, Bobby Parr and wife, June, Ted Parr and wife, Ethel; sister-in-law, Yona Willis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved dog, Coco.
