Betty Penner

COLLEYVILLE -- Betty L. Penner, 69, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 21, 2008. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Hurst. Dr. Jeff Burnett will officiate. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lucas Hurst Funeral Home. Memorials: Cornerstone Assistance Network, 6924 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180. Betty accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age in Henderson, Neb. She showed her love for the Lord by spending a lifetime studying the Bible. As a member of various churches, including First Baptist Church of Hurst, she spent a total of 40 years teaching Sunday school. She attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan., and Kansas State University. In 1958, she married John Penner. She was a realtor for many years. A talented artist, she was a charter member of Mid-cities Fine Artists. She was a very positive and happy person who put her family ahead of her interest. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors: Husband, John; daughters, Sharon Penner and Donna Cabaniss and husband, Mike; mother, Verna Epp; and brothers, Ardean Kliewer and Richard Kliewer.
