HALTOM CITY -- Bettye Jo Thompson Ivicic, 85, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. God called home one of his precious angels. She is home now without the pain she lived with in her earthly body. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are grandsons, Jason Whitaker, Che' Hightower, Todd Hightower, Keith Hightower, Joseph Bustos and Jerry Ivicic Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Whitaker, Brandon Ivicic, Russell Ivicic, Curtis Ivicic and Justin Ivicic. Place of honor, her only granddaughter, Angel Ivicic. Bettye Jo was born Nov. 13, 1928, to John and Della Thompson. She grew up in Fort Worth, moved to Taylor, then to Victoria. She moved back to the Fort Worth area, where she called Haltom City home for over 50 years. She was a member of Adventist Church in Fort Worth. Bettye Jo retired from Ryder Truck Rental after many years of service. Mother, we will miss you forever and love you the same, until we meet again. Bettye Jo was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters and several nieces and nephews. Survivors: Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Jerry and wife, Lucy Ivicic, and Robert Matthew Ivicic; daughters, Becky and husband, Randy Hightower, and Nancy and husband, Don Sowell; 11 grandsons; one granddaughter; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandson on the way; and twin sisters, Madell Anthony and Lanelle Cooper.
