FORT WORTH -- Billie Major Pannill, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Jan. 27, 2012, during her 87th year. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the W. Ray Watson Chapel at University Baptist Church, 2720 Wabash Ave. She will be laid to rest privately in The Mausoleum at Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Odyssey Hospice or the Salvation Army, in Billie's memory, is suggested. Known as "Biddie" by her grandchildren, Billie was born Dec. 8, 1924, the daughter of Herbert and Ozella Frances Whitson Major. She met Charlie Pannill on a "blind date"; they exchanged letters during his service during World War II. Billie and Charlie married Dec. 18, 1948, and after a honeymoon in New Orleans, they went on to travel the world and make many friends, enjoying their life together for 63 years. Always impeccably dressed, Billie's good humor and exceptional cooking were enjoyed by her extensive family and many friends. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Charlie, Billie is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hill of Broomfield, Colo.; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Connolly and her husband, Devin, Katie Hill and Lana Hill; great-granddaughter, Aurelia; sister, Jane Ellison; numerous nieces and nephews and their families, including Bob Parker; and many wonderful friends.
