Billy Ray Chivers

Billy Ray, the son of James Ralph and Ruby Barefield Chivers, was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Willow Point. He attended Decatur Christian College before starting a 39-year career with Texas Instruments/Ratheon as an environmental test lab technician. Billy Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints Grapevine Ward. Billy Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrna Loy Heatherwick Chivers; brother, James Robert Chivers; and stepbrother, Kelly Stegall. Survivors: His wife, Vanita Jane Chivers; children, Dana Lynn Chivers of Carrollton and Melany Jane Hendrix and husband, Steven Ray; stepchildren, David Lee Blount of Grapevine and Brenda Sue Field of Hurst; grandchildren, Hailey Renee Chivers, Noah Ray Hatfield, Amber Rose Hatfield, Nathaniel Paul Hatfield, Nicholas Ashton Hatfield, Alexis Sue Field, Steven Ray Hendrix Jr., Lucas Ray Hendrix and Daniel Arthur Hendrix; stepmother, Jackie June Johnson; siblings, Tommy Joe Chivers and wife, Lorez, and James Floyd Stegall and wife, Pat; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
