Billy "Bill" Ray Minor, 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in Mansfield. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home. Billy was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Waxahachie to Bennett Jarvis and Birdie V. Davis Minor. He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School and enrolled in electrical apprentice school. He was a member of IBEW Local Union 59 for 51 years in Dallas. Billy was a strong union man and a Democrat. After retirement, Billy and Billie enjoyed and loved traveling. He was always ready to go. Billy will be missed by many, including Cody, his pomeranian, who he said he would not take a million dollars for. Billy's presence on this earth touched our lives and made us better. We will deeply miss his wise counsel, infectious laugh, zest for life and compassionate support. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. Survivors: Billy is survived by his wife, Billie, of 41 years; sons, Lee and Dedria Minor of Tallahassee, Fla., Kevin and Deanne Minor, of Terrell and Todd and Robin Minor, of Bridgeport; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-laws, along with many special and dear friends.
