NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Birchie Cox, 71, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at her home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Colleyville, 5300 Colleyville Blvd. The Rev. Lawrence Hammond will officiate. Interment: 3 p.m. Monday in Lane's Chapel Cemetery near Mosheim. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Bearers of her casket will be her grandsons. Birchie was born in Independence, Kan., on Nov. 6, 1938, to Noel Dempsy and Helen Smith Davis. She married Kirby Cox and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Survivors: Husband, Kirby Cox; son, Kirby Cox II and wife, Debi; daughter, Jill Cox Logan; grandchildren, Brandon Phillips, Jordan Logan, Jeremiah Cox, Kirby Cox III, Lindsey Logan and Nathaniel Cox; brothers, Steve Davis and wife, Carolyn, and Pat Davis and wife, Justin; sisters, Nila Barker and Treva Hewlett; brother-in-law, Glen Cox and wife, Audrey; sister-in-law, Dolly Cox; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones.
