MANSFIELD -- Bonnie M. Kral, 95, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in Mansfield. The eldest of five children, Bonnie was born Oct. 7, 1912, in Canton, the daughter of John F. and Eula Calhoun Putman. She graduated from Roby High School and obtained a B.A. degree in education and business administration from East Texas State Teachers College and a master's degree in elementary education from TCU. She married Benjamin Franklin Kral on June 1, 1940, at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Bonnie taught school for 33 years, retiring from the Arlington Independent School District in 1977. Her teaching career began at J.B. Little Elementary School in 1939. Locally, she taught in the Kennedale school district and the Fort Worth school district before returning to J.B. Elementary about 1960. She was named Teacher of the Year in 1972. Bonnie was a wonderful Christian woman who inspired and enriched many lives in her long teaching career. She shall be missed by family and friends and a host of former students. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandson. Survivors: Daughter, Kathryn A. Dunn and husband, Glenn; grandson, Darrell Dunn and wife, Gina; granddaughter, Roni Brueggemann and husband, Chad; great-granddaughters, Karina and Faryn Dunn; nieces, Emogene Samuel and husband, Floyd, Shirley Bratcher and husband, John, Janet Williford and Linda Sorelle; and nephew, Richard Putman.
