HURST -- Burton "Burt" Raymond Gannon, 89, of Hurst passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at home with his family by his side. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, with military service. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Burt was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Michigan. He served in World War II in the 8th Air Force. He retired after 36 years from Texas Electric Services Company. Survivors: Wife of 64 years, Dorris Chambers Gannon of Hurst; son, Gerald R. Gannon and wife, Barbara, of Hurst; daughter, Karen D. Elrod and husband, Woody, of Benbrook; grandson, Brian L. Gannon and wife, Lori, of Bedford; granddaughter, Mandy Hendry and husband, Chris, of Lawton, Okla.; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
