HURST -- Candelario Martinez, Retired Captain in the U.S. Air Force, 73, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his home in Hurst. Mass of Christian Burial: (time and day) at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Burial: (time and day) at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Lane "". Candelario S. Martinez was born October 10, 1934, in Alice, Texas, to Andres and Maria DelReFurgio Sandoval Martinez. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. His family was important to him and he enjoyed the grandchildren very much. The main hobby of his life was tinkering with clocks, working on them and fixing them. Candelario was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Martinez; grandson, Sammie Martinez and brother Alonzo Martinez. Survivors: Wife, Blanca Laura Martinez of the home; son, Andrew Martinez and his wife Annette of Watauga; son, Al Martinez and his wife Marnie of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Treanna Blanchard and her husband Jay of Hurst; son, Arthur Martinez and his wife Rios of Euless; daughter, Jeanette Billings and her husband Chanse of Haslett; grandchildren, Christina, Michelle, Amanda, Matthew, Austin, Gracie, Michael, Katelynn, Taylor, and Corey; brothers Humberto Martinez an Andres Martinez, Jr.; sisters, Ida Vaghan and Eva Camara; several nieces and nephews and extended family.
