Cannie Freeman

FORT WORTH -- Cannie Maye Freeman, 68, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cannie, the daughter of Robert Lee and Eula Mae Fillingim Newman, was born April 11, 1943, in Wheeler. She was a longtime resident of Fort Worth. Cannie was a caring person, willing to help any time. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bobbie; and husband, Gary Freeman. Survivors: Sons, David Gunter and wife, Laurie, and Kenneth Ray Gunter Jr. and wife, Janie; daughter, Chris Castillo and husband, Paul; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, William Newman; sisters, twin Laura Hudler, Maxiene Oldham and Robbie Bleakley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
