BEDFORD -- Carolyn Ruth Haire, 60, an executive assistant with IBM, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Memory Gardens, Lake Charles, La., under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Carolyn was employed by IBM for 35 years. She was "our rock" who courageously battled cancer for 11 years. She will be remembered as a kind, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Survivors: Husband, John D. Haire Jr.; daughter, Samantha A. Martin; brothers, Floyd R. Holland Jr., Robert W. Holland; sister-in-law, Patricia M. Holland; grandchildren, Austin J.
