MANSFIELD -- Charlene McKinzey, 59, loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. Interment: Bishop Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, Music, Youth and Children's Ministries. A college fund has been established for Brandt at Texas Trust Credit Union, Mansfield. Charlene was actively involved in First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, serving in various staff positions and volunteer ministries. She was a teacher for over 33 years, most recently at Wester Middle School. She was Teacher of the Year multiple times, and will be greatly missed by staff and students. She also loved teaching swimming lessons and even taught at an auctioneering school. She was also the master chef on church mission trips. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ila Brandt of Wichita, Kan. Survivors: Husband, Kyle; children, Johnna and Brandt; brother, Rex Brandt of Lawrence, Kan.; sister, Julia Hoxie and husband, John, of Frisco; in-laws, Jerry and Bueaton McKinzey, John McKinzey, Laurie and Krishna Palepu; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
