GRAPEVINE -- Chris Kuykendall, a young man of integrity, passion, selfless service and great smiles, finished his days with us Tuesday, May 11, 2010, and was received with honor by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His desire to be a youth pastor, speaker and author was only surpassed by his vision to be a passionate lover of God who daily seeks His face and to be an example of God's love to the next generation. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Gateway Church in Southlake. Viewing: 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine. Memorials: Donations can be made to Still Creek Ranch, Bryan, Texas, or the Chris Kuykendall Memorial Fund care of Faithful Men Ministries. Chris was born Oct. 11, 1983, in Amarillo and moved to Grapevine in 1989. Chris graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School, TCC and UT-Arlington. Chris enjoyed swimming, trombone, ultimate Frisbee, reading, making videos, playing games, being a friend and laughing. Chris worked as a server at Chili's and the Gaylord Texan, in sales at Best Buy and as a manager at DFW Adventure Park in Roanoke. Chris was active at Metroplex Chapel from 1997 to 2001, and was a volunteer leader in youth ministry at Gateway Church in Southlake from 2001 until he moved to Still Creek Ranch in Bryan. Chris worked as a teacher and house parent where he significantly impacted the lives of many children. Survivors: Parents, Randy and Ginger Kuykendall; brother, Terrel of Grapevine; grandparents, Glenn and Mary Kuykendall of Hurst; uncles; aunts; cousins; his heart's choice, Carolyn Dotti, with her family, Dr. Mike and Nancy Dotti, Janice and Matt Townsend; and many friends.
