Clarence Everett "T-Bone" Bland, 74, went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 26, 2010 with family by his side. Clarence, who will be dearly missed by family and friends, was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 27, 1935. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with them. He held the relationships developed with his Center Point Church community close to his heart. Clarence was preceded in death by his father Ezra Bland, mother Amma Bland and brother Vernon Bland He is survived by his son C. Keith Bland of Keller, Texas, Keith's wife Kim and grandchildren Cody, Nikki and Nash, his wife Joyce Bierschenk and her children Wanda Williams, Dennis Bierschenk, Paula Bierschenk, and their kids, Katelyn, Shantel, Herstle, and Paul. He led a full life and made many contributions to the Keller community, which he considered his hometown. Born in Fort Worth, he was raised in a small home adjacent to the original La Grave Field, home to the Fort Worth Cats Ball Club, where his father was the grounds keeper. Clarence married Wy Nell Bland but was immediately sent to Korea to serve his country in the Korean War. After returning he and his family relocated to Keller, Texas in 1966. Clarence worked for a couple of Fort Worth area banks until starting his own Building, Development and Real Estate Company. Along with a few other community members, Clarence was instrumental in breaking ground for the Keller Youth Association Sports Complex. The current complex began with a meeting room/concession stand and 3 baseball fields, all of which are still in use today. Clarence was pleased to know that hundreds of children have enjoyed the use of these sports fields that are a part of the current Keller Youth Association complex that consists of several baseball and football fields. Visitation will be Monday, February 1, 2010, 6-8 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. Church service will be Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 12 PM at Center Point Church in North Richland Hills, TX followed by a 2:30 PM burial at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
