FORT WORTH -- Clyde Lee Janeski peacefully received healing from acute myeloid leukemia at home Sunday, March 7, 2010, with his wife and family at his side. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hurst Assembly of God Church, 812 Harrison Lane. Interment: 10 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Hurst Assembly for a new playground to fulfill Clyde's vision or to the Leukemia Society in Fort Worth. Clyde was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Doyline and Fred Janeski, and was raised by Doyline and Oscar Manley. He graduated from Pittsburg High and attended Kansas State Teachers College. He served in the Navy and retired from Napa Auto Parts. He was pastor of Cornerstone Assembly of God, Dewitt, Iowa; Grace Assembly of God, Davenport, Iowa; and Hurst Assembly of God, Hurst, having relocated to be closer to his only grandchild, Landon. He loved to golf and travel often to St. Croix and Europe with his loving wife. He donated over 25 gallons of blood/platelets over the years. Clyde will be remembered for loving others, caring enough to listen, encourage, offer hope, help anyone and share the news of Jesus Christ. The family thanks Dr. Sanjay Oommen and staff at Texas Oncology, Baylor All Saints infusion unit and the 7th-floor nursing staff for their dedicated love and support. Survivors: Wife, Karen; kids, Cindy and Robert Scott, C.L. and Penny Janeski and David and Darlene Janeski; grandson, Landon; brother, Fred; sister, Alice Holt; extended family; and host of friends.
