Corrie Wayne Harris

Corrie Wayne Harris, 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. Inurnment: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 with naval honors at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Fisher House Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project. Wayne, the son of Corrie O. and Velma White Harris, was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Paris, Texas. After attending Texas A&M, the class of 1952, he joined the United States Navy where he became a lieutenant junior grade aviator. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, V. Suzanne Harris. Survivors: Wife, Dorthea "Dot" L. Harris; sons, Kevin W. Harris and wife, Ramona "Mona," and Raymond "Ray" Harris; grandchildren, Clayton W. Harris, Stephanie R. Harris, Alicia M. Harris, Zack Harris and Martin Harris; great-grandchild, Tess E. Harris; brother, Michael B. Harris; sister, Rosemary Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
