FORT WORTH -- Danna Mehl Levy, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, after a long illness. Service: Following committal prayers Thursday, Danna was laid to rest, privately, next to her husband, Louis, in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the Child Study Center, 1300 W. Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102, or a charity of one's choice, in Danna's memory, is suggested. Born to B. Max and Ethel Rosen Mehl, Danna was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth. She was happily married for 60 years to Louis J. Levy, a noted orthopedic surgeon, until his death in 1993. Mrs. Levy was active in the community throughout her life. She volunteered with the PTA and Child Study Center for many years and was a charter member of the Women of Rotary and the Tarrant County Medical Association Alliance. "Bubbie," as her family affectionately called her, was an avid Cowboys football fan and a longtime supporter of TCU football and basketball. She was a great cook and the epitome of politeness, fashion and wit, and will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Rosenberg of Chicago, Ill. Her family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Broadway Plaza at Cityview for their compassionate care for the past six years, and to VITAS Hospice for providing comfort and dignity for Mrs. Levy during her final days. Survivors: Her daughter, Roslyn Levy Rubin of Fort Worth; sons, Lou Levy and his wife, Linda, of La Jolla, Calif., and Max Levy and his wife, Deborah, of Dallas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
