Darlene Lewis

MANSFIELD -- Darlene F. Lewis went to her Lord on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010.        Service: 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield.        Darlene was born in Fort Worth on June 24, 1943, to Shorty and Katheryn Newsom, and was the youngest of three children. She married Doyle Lewis on April 14, 1995.        Darlene was a member of the Red Hat Society of Mansfield. She was also a member of the Silver Sneakers of the YMCA where she did volunteer work on several projects. She volunteered for Mission Arlington's food bank, as well as continuously donating to multiple charity organizations. Darlene had a big heart and always jumped at the opportunity to help someone in need. She was an extremely kind and loving person to family and friends alike and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.        She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Murray and Jessie Bankhead; parents, Shorty and Katheryn Newsom; sister, Beverly Hill; and son, Gary Haralson.        Survivors: Her loving husband, Doyle Lewis; daughter, Theresa Armistead and husband, Rick; brother, Reubin Harle; grandchildren, Ashley Allison, Roxanne Thalman and husband, Brian, Rick Jr.; great-granddaughter, Ava Thalman; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
