DARRELL HANSON

BENBROOK -- Darrell Harlen Hanson died peacefully at home Thursday morning, Dec. 23, 2010, during his 70th year.        Service: A Requiem Eucharist will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Holy Apostles, 3900 Longvue Ave., with the Rev. Christopher Thomas Cantrell SSC, celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, where Darrell will be laid to rest.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the church, in his name, is suggested.        Born in Taopi, Minn., Darrell was the son of Howard and Margaret Christensen Hanson. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after a 30-year career at Lockheed Martin, formerly General Dynamics.        A cheerful, tireless volunteer and servant of Christ, Darrell was an active participant in men's group activities at Church of the Holy Apostles in Fort Worth. For several years, he helped maintain the parish grounds, spending hours on often-contrary riding mowers and on repairs. He was also a member of American Legion Post 297 in Benbrook.        Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Hanson.        Survivors: In addition to his wife, Alice, Darrell is survived by his children, Donna Stubblefield and Jim, Darrell Hanson II and Deborah, and Stephanie Williams and Greg; grandchildren, Sarah, Spencer, Amber, Shawnee, Haley, Jacob and Hunter; sister-in-law, Bettina Herndon and Tom; niece, Elizabeth Rudolph and Keith; and great-nephew, Carter.
