David Strittmatter

David Joseph Strittmatter, 71 of Pilot Point, passed away on Monday, May, 23, 2011 in Denton. He was born on July 11, 1939 in Pilot Point to Joseph and Margaret (Henzler) Strittmatter. He married Bernice Hermes on August 27, 1960 in Lindsay. He founded Strittmatter Irrigation in 1966 in Pilot Point. He was also a farmer and rancher. He served on the Board of Directors at Pilot Point National Bank for 30 years, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and achieved the rank of 4th Degree, he was past president of the Pilot Point School Board where he served for close to 20 years, and he was a member of the ROTC at University of Texas at Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Pilot Point; four sons, Allan Strittmatter and wife Raeann of Pilot Point, Joseph Strittmatter and wife Marla of Aubrey, Patrick Strittmatter and wife Ashli of Frisco and Andrew Strittmatter and wife Lindsey of Edmond, OK; and three daughters, Leslie Mascari and husband Marty of Pilot Point, Julie West and husband Dave of Fort Worth and Amy Mann and husband Mitchell of Pilot Point. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, Joseph Mascari, Jordan Mascari, Katie Mascari, Maddy Mascari, Ashley West, Sophie West, Shane West, Allison Strittmatter, Ashlyn Strittmatter, Aaron Strittmatter, Keeli Mann, Gabriel Mann, Lauren Strittmatter, Reed Strittmatter, Collin Strittmatter, Abigail Strittmatter, Ava Strittmatter, Amelia Strittmatter and August Strittmatter; as well as two brothers, James Strittmatter of Pilot Point and Harold Strittmatter of Niceville, FL; three sisters, Martha Tempesta of Milwaukee, WI, Janie Wallace of Dallas and Eloise Cockrill of Pilot Point; and one aunt, Marie (Rie) Strittmatter of Pilot Point. He is preceded in death by one grandson Jack Henry Strittmatter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
