Delphine Iris Counts

ARLINGTON -- Delphine Counts, 97, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart Association of Fort Worth, American Diabetes Association, Humane Society of North Texas, or the charity of your choice. Delphine was born March 23, 1917, in Granbury to Joseph and Trannie Key Deering. She worked as an executive secretary at Williamson Dickie Co. and in later years went to work for Fort Worth ISD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melbourne Carroll Counts; son, William David "Bill" Counts; and grandson, Gregg Scott. Survivors: Sons, Morris Counts (Renee) and Mike Counts; daughters, Joleta Scott (Garry), and Iris Counts; sister, Myrlene Holder; grandchildren, Philip and Todd Counts and Ginger McCarty; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
