Dianna Schmitz

KELLER -- Dianna "Cookie" June Schmitz, age 67, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at her home in Keller after a courageous battle with brain cancer.        Funeral: Noon Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.        She loved to take photos and now she'll always be with us in all the pictures she took. She was an active woman who enjoyed golf and travel. She was always very happy working in her garden, but perhaps she was most happy and proud of herself when she got her college degree.        She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren. Her strong sense of independence and strength will forever be with us.        Survivors: Her husband of 48 years, Tom; her children, Tommy, David, Mandy and Nancy; her grandchildren, Ryan, Jessie, Tommy and Lexi; great-grandchild, Sawyer; mother, Florence; sisters, Carla and Jackie; and brother, John.
