Donald Shelton

Slay Memorial Funeral Center Aubrey, Texas Donald G. Shelton of Ponder, Texas passed from this earth on Friday, March 16, 2012. Don was born to Hazel A and J.B. Shelton of Aubrey, Texas on April 29, 1953. Don was born in Denton, Texas and graduated from Aubrey High School. Don worked for many years at various auto dealerships in the north Texas area as a master auto body technician and loved working on home renovation projects and was a master carpenter. Don was a 3rd degree Mason of Ford Lodge 270 in Pilot Point. In his retirement Don volunteered for Interfaith Ministries and the local food pantries. Don loved traveling and managed to see most of the US and parts of Mexico. Don is survived by his son Brad Shelton and his wife D'Lynne and grandson Nick Shelton of Aubrey, Texas; daughter Kimberly McDonald and her husband Rex of Providence, Texas; brothers Bob Shelton and wife Rina of Lima, Peru; Lynn Shelton of Blanchard, OK; Ron Shelton and wife Lori of Denton, Texas; Kent Shelton and wife Susan of Denton, Texas; sisters Billie Faye McBride and husband Tommy of Ben Wheeler, Texas and Sheryl Cravens of Shaddock, OK. Don is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Don was preceded in death by his father J.B. Shelton and mother Hazel A Shelton of Aubrey and sister Betty Smith of Pilot Point. Funeral arrangements were made through the Slay Funeral Center in Aubrey, Texas with the viewing on Tuesday, March 20 from 6-8 and the memorial service at Tyson Cemetery on Wednesday, March 21 at 2:00.
