Dorothy "Darsy" Bravenec Ewan, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 18, 2011. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Community of Hope United Methodist Church, 1800 E. Debbie Lane, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Blessing Funeral Home. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: Donations to Community of Hope United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Darsy was born January 27, 1933 in Bryan. She was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan. She supported her husband through his military career raising four daughters along the way. She was a member of the Officer's Wives Club and held all offices, including president. She was a member of the Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation and a die hard Aggie Fan. Dorothy unselfishly gave her time throughout her life to her brothers, parents, children, grandchildren, and husband whenever she was needed. She had a passion for sewing, gardening and cooking. Darsy was a proud and faithful member of the Community of Hope United Methodist Church in Mansfield, where she was an active volunteer. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Bravenec and her husband of 53 years, Franklin R. Ewan. Survivors: Darsy is survived by daughters, Denise and husband Mitch, Darlene, Diana, Debbie, Brothers, JR Bravenec and wife Lynda, Frank Bravenec; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and 12 grand-dogs.
