Earl Leon Dillard, 77 of Fort Worth, Texas passed into the glorious presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on March 22, 2015 at a Fort Worth Hospice Center after a courageous 14 year battle with Leukemia/Lymphoma. He was born August 24, 1937 in Dallas Texas to Daisy May and Sidney Oran Dillard. He grew up in west Dallas with his twin sister Pearl and his brothers Gerald and George. He married Janie Applin on December 24, 1965 at Faith Bible Church in west Dallas. He made his home in Seagoville, Texas until 1984 when he moved to the North Fort Worth/Keller area to continue a long career in the grocery business. He worked for several companies including Cathy & Carroll, A&P, Affiliated Foods, and Minyard from which he retired. He was very active in his local church having been a Sunday School Teacher, Worship Leader, and Lay Minister. He was also a member of the Bible Memory Association and memorized over 500 verses. He especially loved singing in the Choir at Glenview Church. He was a true worshipper and many will miss seeing those strong arms and hands being lifted in worship to the Lord. He loved doing just about anything from fishing and traveling to attending baseball games and other events. He loved being around people and he was always happy to pray for and encourage anyone. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow. He made every effort to be at their many events and was their biggest fan. He loved cheering them on at whatever they did. He loved telling people about his faith in Jesus and how God had a plan for their lives. Over the years he led many people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was always a great encourager and friend to everyone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Janie, son Phillip and his wife Paula of Fort Worth, grandchildren Robert and Alysa. His nieces Cindy Terry and husband Carl, Linda Littleton and husband Michael. His nephew Glen Dillard. Great nephew Alvin Featherston and his wife Dea. Great niece Stacy House and husband Nate. Great nieces Christy Mayberry and Martha Arrington. Great great nieces and nephews: Michael, Shelby, Ashley, Lilly, Parker, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Hannah, and Desean. He was preceded in death by His Father Sidney, His Mother Daisy, His Brother Gerald, His Sister Pearl and His Brother George. The family will receive visitors on Thursday March 26, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Lucas Funeral Home 137 E Hill St Keller TX 76248. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday March 27, 2015 at 11 AM at Glenview Church 4805 NE Loop 820 Ft Worth, TX 76137. Burial will be private.
