Edith Hamilton

FORT WORTH -- Edith Marie Hamilton passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at the age of 100. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing to a favorite charity or church.She was born April 26, 1911, to Benjamin "Ben" and Jewel Richards in Elk City, Okla. Edith married E.C. "Pat" Hamilton in 1929 and they were longtime residents of the Fargo, Odell and Chillicothe areas until his death July 3, 1967. She lived in Vernon until 1973, when she moved to Azle. In 1003, Edith moved to a nursing home in Fort Worth where she resided until her death. Her 100th birthday was celebrated in April with five generations of family present. Her parents and one brother, Bill Richards, preceded her in death.Survivors: Son, Bennie Hamilton and wife, Peggy, of Aledo; daughters, Sharon Maynard and husband, Joe, of Fort Worth and Ann Bailey and husband, Larry Wood, of Austin; grandchildren, Carol Bailey of Boyd, Ricky Tooley of Elgin, Terri Kinslow of Jonestown, Tommy Tooley of Cedar Park and Leslie Everett and Jerrod Raymond, both of Aledo; six great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
