RIVER OAKS -- Edith Melear Hughes, 91, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Calvario Funeral Chapel (formerly Shannon North). Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: Mrs. Hughes will lie in state 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with her family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Survivors: Sons, Darrell Melear and Sam Melear and wife, Linda; daughters, Lee Jones and Onita Sims and husband, James; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and "Jill," her beloved four-legged companion.
