Edith Tramel

Azle, TX - Edith A. Tramel 94 Loved Wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away May 5, 2010 Service: Celebration of Life: 5:00 P.M., Thursday May 6, 2010 A visitation will take place following the service at Blessing Funeral Home. A family graveside burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Prairie Point Cemetery outside Kerens, TX. Edith was born in Madge, OK. Her early homes were in West Texas. She was married to Vernon E. Tramel and they lived in South Fort Worth for the majority of their married life. She was the oldest of 9 children and sometimes extras. She was a little mother starting early in life. She knew all about the good and the bad in children, but she loved them all. At 94 her eyes still light up at the very sight of a child. Being Grandma to so many of us for so many years was a sight to behold. She had a strong work ethic and worked not just as a homemaker. She and her husband had restaurants in Kerens and Kennedale. In Fort Worth, she worked for and retired from the Chilton Corporation. She was very active in church and was a long time member of College Avenue Baptist Church. She loved to bake and cook especially during holidays to everyone's delight. It was wonderful to see how she always made everyone feel loved and appreciated. While her physical presence in our lives will be greatly missed, "she will remain in our hearts". She has left a good part of her with each of us. Memories to be cherished by her children and family are her undying devotion to her family and her deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The family wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Gonzales and his staff for the many years of care. We also thank the entire staff of Azle Manor and Integra Care Hospice staff for all of their loving care given to our Mom and Grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Winters, her husband of over 50 years, Vernon E. Tramel. Sisters: Amy Seale, June Chapman and Nova Fleming Brothers: Freddie Winters, John Winters and Gene Winters. She is survived by: Brothers - Paul Winters and wife Sue of Kennedale, TX; Ollie Winters and wife Dorothy of Kennedale, TX Children - Kenneth Tramel and wife Phoebe of Denison, TX; Donald Tramel and wife Kathy of Newalla, OK; and Lillian Sanders of Paradise, TX.
