FORT WORTH -- Eleanor Klotzman Gachman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, died peacefully Saturday evening, April 2, 2011, during her 91st year. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary at Beth-El Congregation, 4900 Briarhaven Road, with Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger officiating. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest in the Beth-El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park. Shiva and minyan services will be held at the home of Arnold and Harriette Gachman, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Bearers of her casket will be Laurin Baum, Dean Gachman, Randy Gachman, Jeff Klotzman, Bradley Lewis, Scott Menscher and Ron Zodin. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Beth-El Congregation, Congregation Ahavath Sholom, UNT Health Science Center's Geriatric Fellowship Program or the Joan Katz Breast Center at Baylor All Saints Medical Center, in her memory is suggested. A native and life resident of Fort Worth, Eleanor was born May 31, 1919, the daughter of Irving and Lillian Klotzman. She graduated from Central High School, now R.L. Paschal, and attended OLV. Eleanor loved beauty and was creative, painting and doing needlepoint. She was a member of the Tanglewood Garden Club and enjoyed her home and landscape. She was a member of Women of Reformed Judaism, Hadassah and the Fort Worth Club. She was active in many community endeavors. Eleanor married Leon Harold Gachman in 1938 and enjoyed 73 years as partners. Together, they were close to family and friends, traveled and celebrated, sharing many wonderful life events. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alan; and sister-in-law, Muriel. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Leon, Eleanor is survived by her son, Arnold Gene Gachman and his wife, Harriette; grandchildren, Iric Joel Gachman and his wife, Susan, and Lesha Gachman Carlson and her husband, John; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Jordan Gachman and Ben, Gabbie and Kellie Ann Carlson; sisters-in-law, Frances Klotzman and Diane Gachman Menscher and her husband, Bart; brother-in-law, Dan Gachman and his wife, Carol; and nieces and nephews and their families.
