Eleanor Marie Syverson

HURST -- Eleanor Marie Syverson, 97, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst. Lane Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43221, or www.giveto.osu.edu. Eleanor was born in Brooten, Minn., on March 7, 1915. She graduated from St. Olaf College and subsequently taught in area high schools. She married Aldrich Syverson in 1942 and spent 45 years in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Texas in 1997. Eleanor was an active member of the Lutheran Church, The Ohio State University Women's Club and the Worthington Women's Club. She also gave of her time supporting various cancer organizations. Survivors: Daughter, Elizabeth; son, William and wife, Chris; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
