Ellen Perrottet

BEDFORD -- Ellen M. Perrottet, 97, affectionately known as "GG," passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at a local nursing center.        Memorial service: 4 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst. Interment: Mascoutah, Ill.        Ellen was born May 3, 1912, in Mascoutah, Ill. She was a 1930 graduate of Mascoutah Community High School. She married Leroy Perrottet in 1932 and together they owned and operated Perrottet Shoes and Men's Wear on Main Street for over 30 years, a business built by her family in the late 1800s. On retirement from the business, her husband served on the city council and as mayor of Mascoutah for 16 years. Ellen participated in numerous community organizations during that time. After her husband passed away in 1994, Ellen moved to Texas to be near her daughter and her family. She was a resident of Meadow Lakes Retirement Center for 12 years where she enjoyed dominoes and card games. She especially enjoyed her time with family.        She was preceded in...
