Elsie Watkins

GRAPEVINE -- Elsie L. (Hardy)Watkins passed away August 8, 2013 from lung cancer at her daughter's home in Garland, Texas. Elsie Lorene Hardy was born November 18, 1927 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She married William (Bill) E. Watkins and had celebrated their 665th anniversary in January of 2013. She was preceded in death by infant daughter Barbara Diane.        There will be a Memorial Service for Elsie on Sunday, August 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Grapevine Activity Center, 1175 Municipal Way (just off Main Street) in Grapevine, Texas. Elsie's ashes will be buried in Hixson, Tennessee with a Memorial to be determined at a later date.        Survivors: spouse, Bill Watkins; daughters Brenda Joyce Duke and husband Kenneth, and Linda Gail Herndon; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren: April Diane Duke, Kyle David Duke and wife Jillian, their children, Cody and Lily; Adam Michael Duke and wife Stephanie and their child Jacob. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews which she cared about very much. A special thanks to her niece Charlene (Hardy) Robinson for her care and help at a time of need.
